These population Demographics portray ones of an NIC, a newly industrialized country. We can see that males and females live to their mid-seventies or so on average which, is pretty amazing. Mexico’s actually ranked 95th in comparison to the world. We can also see that birth rates are high and death rates are low showing growth in the country’s population. The fact that the death rates are low is good because it shows that Mexico has an advanced medical system so many people don’t die of disease. Infant Mortality rate is around 1/100 deaths per live births, ranked 122 in the world, which isn’t amazing but, still pretty good and as the country becomes more industrialized this number will decrease for sure. The total fertility rate is around 2.3 ranking Mexico as 94th in comparison to the world so, pretty well. We can also see a low rate of natural increase but, not too low showing that it isn’t an MDC but, the fact that there is a moderate increase symbolizes that of An NIC. From all this information we can conclude that Mexico is in stage three of the demographic transition model. Lastly, the net migration rate is around 1.7 migrants/1,000 which means there are currently more people entering the country than leaving it however low this rate may be Mexico is ranked 160 in comparison to the world which isn’t particularly desirable but, if these immigrants provide use to the economy then things can turn out well.

Population Pyramid
In this popoulation pyramid we can see that Mexico is an NIC becase birth rates appear to be growing at a constant rate. When I say this I mean at first, not many people were being born however over time, more and more people were being born and now we can see there is a large mass of younger peopleand as these people reach fertility years, they to will have many children increasing the countries population.

Population Demographics
Most of the population are centered in big cities such as Mexico City. This is a prime example of how urbanization occurred. Many people from rural areas moved out of the country and into the city seeking opportunities and work. The reason this major cities and other densely populated areas are located in the middle of Mexico is due to the previous inhabitants, the Aztecs, whose empire was in this area. Lastly, looking at the map we can see that areas bordering the Gulf of Mexico as well as the state Jalisco bordering the Pacific Ocean are quite populated as well. This is due to their harbors which are used as ports for imports and exports.
