Race/Ethnicity

The minority of the country of Mexico is made up of the Amerindian group. When the Spanish came over, they wiped out majority of the native/indigenous people in this area explaining why the percentage of Amerindians is little in comparison to the other racial/ethnic groups. The next smallest group is the “other” group which is mostly European, these were most likely Europeans who came over during conquest and did not have relations with the indigenous peoples. The largest racial/ethnic group are the mestizos, which are Amerindian-Spanish, the reason for this being the largest group is due to the large amounts of Spanish who came over during European colonization and had relations with the native people.
