Religion

There is a clear out number of people who are affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church than any other religion explaining why it is the predominant religion in Mexico. The reason the Roman Catholic Church is so predominant in Mexico is due to the colonization of the Spaniards during the era of European conquest. In this era the Europeans, in this case the Spanish, came over to the Americas and took over with the aid of diseases. Due to this depletion of indigenous peoples in this areas, the Spaniards were able to claim the land for Spain. Spain is a huge supporter in the Roman Catholic Church so, when the Spanish came into Mexico and practically wiped out the indigenous people’s population they also influenced these people with their religion hence the Roman Catholic Church. The rest of the religious distribution in Mexico is a mix of multiple minority religions such as other evangelical churches, Pentecostal, unspecified, other, and none.
